Interpreting Poker Results
Live poker results are something that many players both beginner and experienced seem to have conflicting opinions about. While some poker players would assure you that keeping a close eye on your results is the only way that you can be able to play live poker games effectively, others would just as convincingly tell you that it does not pay to be so “results oriented”.
So which is it? How exactly would you know if you are winning a particular poker games if you don’t look at your results? Well, the answer to that lies in tracking.
While it would first appear tracking is pretty much the same as watching your results, the two actually have some differences. Session tracking involves among other things, knowing your win rate, your standard deviation, the number of hours that you play poker, the limits played for each and every game and more. All this is done for each poker session that you play.
There are many ways by which you can keep track of all this information. In recent years a number of stand-alone poker results tracking software has been introduced into the market, of which StatKing or the Poker Charts online services are among the most commonly used.
